By The River

by Douglas L. Bishop on 8/26/2008 17:17

There’s a springtime that leads
And a summer that follows
From the faith of a seed
There’s a new life that grows

There’s a bending young tree
And it kneels by the water
Where its thirst is relieved
By the river that flows

There’s a woman and man
And a meadow of children
From the strength of the land
There’s a family that grows

There’s an autumn that leads
And a winter that follows
From the song of the years
There’s a wisdom that flows

I will be more
Than I have been before
I will bow as a tree
From the land
To the waters that flow
By the river I stand
